ASEP

The ASEP database (Institutional Repository of the Czech Academy of Sciences) records the outputs of research activities of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS) institutes. The scope and structure of ASEP is based primarily on Act No. 130/2002 Coll. on public funding of research, experimental development and innovations.

The records of results are publicly accessible through the online catalogue and the ASEP Analytics web application, which enables to display bibliographic, statistical and graphical overviews of the CAS institutes, scientific departments and authors. Records date back to 1990.

Full texts can be added to bibliographic records of works by CAS employees (since 2012). Data records with datasets can be created too (since 2018).

The data recorded in the ASEP database form the basis for the evaluation of CAS institutes. A part of the records is handed over annually to RIV (Registry of Information on Research Results), which is operated by the Government Office of the Czech Republic – Research, Development and Innovation Council (RVVI) as one of the modules of the R&D&I Information System (IS VaVaI in Czech).

The Library of the Czech Academy of Sciences coordinates the data collecting in the CAS and manages the ASEP system. The partial ASEP administrators at the CAS departments are responsible for recording results into ASEP.

The reporting of outputs at the Institute of Philosophy takes place via online  Application for Reporting Results to the ASEP Database, which is available from the Institute's employee portal.
